For those of you who haven't been over to Rottren Tomatoes, what do you think of this ranking?

What do I think?  I think the person who wrote this article hasn't spent much time watching movies that were made prior to the past 20 or 30 years.  The Shaw vs. Connery fight in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE is high on my list as is the original Rocky vs. Apollo Creed fight.  But a top 20 fight list that includes BRIDGET JONES' DIARY but doesn't mention the fights involving Ernest Borgnine, Frank Sinatra, and Montgomery Clift in FROM HERE TO ETERNITY loses a lot of credibility with me.  And what about Borgnine and Lee Marvin in EMPEROR OF THE NORTH POLE?  Where is the Gregory Peck vs. Charlton Heston slug-fest from THE BIG COUNTRY?  How about Alan Ladd and Van Heflin standing toe-to-toe with a bunch of tough hombres in SHANE?  Come on . . . this list is hardly the top 20 fight scenes of all time.

I never cared for Rotten Tomatoes, the site which takes the average score of a whole bunch of pretentious critics and somehow becomes the basis of the movie's "true" quality.

Nice to see Road House in there, though.

Glad to see They Live on the list, but I was kind of disappointed that The Quiet Man didn't at least get an honourable mention.

The barroom brawl between John Wayne and his cronies and the Aussie sailors in "Donovan's Reef" is pretty entertaining. Another Ford/McLaglan classic bust-up is in "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon" when a squad of soldiers attempt to arrest Quincannon is a saloon. Yet another top class fight in a John Wayne film is the big party fight between his ex-Union horse drovers and Rock Hudson's Confederate die-hards.

Is it just limited to humans? Because the fight between King Kong and T-Rex was pretty good. As far as movie fights go that are human how about Samurai vs. Bandits in the "Seven Samurai" or Inigo Montoya vs. the Man in Black in the "The Princess Bride" there are others. I'd be hard pressed to say what was the best ever.

How about the Deakin (Charles Bronson) vs Carlos The Chef (Archie Moore) train top fight in "Breakheart Pass"?
