Oh god....I've had a rash of awful lately:

"Slashed Dreams"--Whut tha?  '70s fashion, music, leftover hippie sentimentality guide two young lovers deep in the woods to find their friend (a VERY young Robert Englund!) who has "dropped out" man.....heavy trip, whoah.  Girl gets raped by WAY too comical yokels (reminiscent of Last House on the Left and I Spit on Your Grave....and this came out first....hmmmm).  Guy chases yokels away.  No blood.  No death.  Englund helps girl through her feelings with poems and hippieness.  Whut tha?  Skull?

"The Mangler 2"--Oh GOD, make it stop!  I couldn't even listen to the commentary after seeing the joke of a "making of" featurette on the DVD.  Artisan.  They put out Argento's "Sleepless" in a no-frills full-frame and they give THIS the deluxe treatment?  The DVD's even missing about 2 minutes of footage (kids wandering through dark gym/cut to out on the lawn and one of them's dead and gone).  Lance Henrikson would be slumming it less if he was starring in my home-made porn.  "Slashed Dreams" was BETTER than this!

"Innocent Blood"--Watched this mainly for the cool cameos (Dario Argento, Sam Raimi, Forrest J. Akerman), which shows how much of a geek I am.  Mildly amusing, lotsa titties.  3 slimes.

"Evil Dead: Book of the Dead Edition"--Is it just me, or is this image transfer rougher than the previous edition?  I could see the mattes clearly as a square in the corner of the frame whenever there was a moon in a shot.  "Fanalysis," B. Campbell's documentary on fandom was amusing, but "Trekkies" covered the same territory much better.  I think the fleshy book thing is cool, but the previous edition is better.  Damn it.

A Fry's Electronics ad for the Evil Dead: Book of the Dead edition contains a little star that proudly proclaimed "Feel it and believe!"

I'm thinking about keeping the cover and putting my old Anchor Bay special edition in.  The color transfer is definitely better in the old, less grain, less shadow.  I'm kind of bummed that I paid $40 for the cover and "fanalysis."
