This is not a great movie, but it's a whole lot better than I expected it would be.

Roger Moore (before he was James Bond - - and, coincidentally, his character mentions ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE in one scene of this movie) stars as businessman Harold Pelham.  After Pelham's car crashes, he is rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.  While he is on the operating table his heart stops.  The surgeon is able to get it beating again . . . but the EKG shows two heartbeats.

Pelham makes a full recovery, but soon discovers that his "twin" is interfereing in his personal and business affairs.  Of course, no one believes him and his family and co-workers begin to doubt his sanity.

This is like a feature-length TWILIGHT ZONE episode.  Moore is good in the lead role and the Anchor Bay widescreen DVD transfer is excellent.  A nice little 92 minute movie to squeeze in sometime when you aren't sure what you want to watch.

I have heard of this movie. Never seen it. I enjoy the fact that you dredge up old 70's films that are mostly forgotton and bring them to our attention. I,too, love the grimey feel of 70's movies. I gew up in the era as well. Some of my most treasured memories are seeing double features of PSYCHIC KILLER and HOMEBODIES,RACE WITH THE DEVIL and BEN,DR> PHIBES RISES AGAIN, WILLARD,FROGS,the POSIDEN ADVENTURE, and...Gawd help me...FOR THE LOVE OF BENJI.....!!!(Which I would tell every one the title ina Peter Lorre voice..why...I dunno...)

RC:

RACE WITH THE DEVIL was a huge surprise for me the first time I saw it.  It was in my hometown movie theater (only 2 screens back then . . . now it's long gone and a shopping mall is where it used to be).  It was a double feature with (AAAAHHHHH!!!!!) Burt Reynolds in W.W. AND THE DIXIE DANCEKINGS (talk about a forgotten 70s movie . . . )

WILLARD was the first "scary" movie I ever saw in a theater (and probably the first PG movie I ever saw).  DR. PHIBES, FROGS, and THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE hold places of high esteem in my DVD collection.  Unfortunately, I never saw PSYCHIC KILLER, HOMEBODIES or FOR THE LOVE OF BENJI.

Now, if they would only release WHEN TIME RAN OUT on DVD . . . Paul Newman, Ernest Borgnine, Red Buttons, Pat Morita, Edward Albert and a bunch of other disaster movie regulars all trying to escape from an erupting volcano.  Now THAT'S entertainment.
