Please take a moment to vote!
You may vote for up to 5 of your favorite cereals.

I went to the grocery store earlier and took forever trying to decide on a cereal.
There's just too many to choose from!
The number of choices are daunting and out of all the aisles in the store, I spend the most time in the cereal aisle.

I finally decided on Rice Krispies ChocoNilla cereal. (still haven't tried them yet)

I usually don't buy most brands because they only offer 10-12 oz boxes for a decent price.  If you want the larger box, you can expect to pay $4-$5 and I ain't paying that much for cereal.
And I can go through a 12 oz box in a day or two so that isn't worth it.
I usually look for brands that offer 16 oz or more for the best price.

Also, I tend to stay away from sugared cereals.  I do occasionally buy them but it doesn't happen often.
On the list above, I voted for Grape Nuts, Golden Grahams, Honeycomb and my all time favorite, Special K.
I can't stand that they market Special K primarily to women.
In my opinion, it's one of the best cereals out there and I feel weird every time I buy it.

Cheerios ran a close 2nd.  Gotta love Cheerios! Thumbup

I will say that the coolest cereal name is Product 19.  It sounds like an ultra high tech scientific experiment with nuclear particles went awry and the unexpected end result was that cereal.   TeddyR

In the list above, I purposely left out discontinued cereals.
The list is only for currently available cereals and is also directed at any of you here in the U.S. as most of the above brands aren't available in other countries.  (though some are)

How about you?
What are your favorite breakfast cereals?

I picked Frosted Mini Wheats, Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes, Lucky Charms and S'mores.

I used to like the old Ninja Turtles cereal and Cheerios.

I agree with you on that one.  It's one of my favorites also but alas it's not marketed more for men.  It is a shame that this is the case.

Cracklin' Oat Bran (the cereal that looks most like dog food) and Kaboom! over here. Childhood favorites that I still buy today when money permits.  TeddyR

 Lookingup

My favorites are Honey Bunches of Oats and Cracklin Oat Bran.

Past cereals I have liked include Alpen and Kellogg's Kenmei (which disappeared from the shelves long ago).

As a kid, Captain Crunch Crunchberries was one of my faves.

An occasional diversion like Quisp is okay, but I couldn't live off of that.

Cracklin' Oat Bran (the cereal that looks most like dog food)...

I'm curious, being that brown sugar is the third ingredient listed for this (I'm munching on a box of it as I type...but the cardboard seems a little stale TeddyR), do you have to make adjustments, or is the sugar content low enough?

Crispix, Oh's (honey nut preffered), Oatmeal Crisp, Resse's Puffs, and Wheaties.  I should try mixing them all together one day, might be good.

Actually, I like to add a scoop of brown sugar to all my dog foods, so no, I don't need to make any adjustments. TongueOut

If you're referring to diabetic adjustments though, my dietitian says that I'm allowed 60g of carbs per meal while on my medication, but if I get greedy and eat 2 or 3 bowls I just pop an extra pill and go easy on lunch.

Avoid Golden Oh's !! They are so hard I'm sure the main ingredients is some sort of metal alloy; even Luther the Geek would break a tooth on them.

I chose Lucky Charms, but they don't sell them here   Bluesad

I used to eat them by the truckload when I lived in Canada.  But now I don't actually eat cereal any more.  I did try these things called Curios.  They're little round discs of compressed Weet Bix, they look like crackers.  They come in 3 flavours, Pancake (my fave), Berry and I think Apple Cinnamon.

They're very filling and very expensive, but you can't eat more than one little pack.

My typical breakfast is coffee and a cigarette.

I have on occasion been known to enjoy Raisin Bran as a snack, especially late at night.  Tastes good, filling with very few calories, and I appreciate the, er, effect on digestion.

Mixing your own sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure they sell plain bran flakes, as opposed to cornflakes.  Not sure what Raisin Corn would taste like.

Someday I may revisit a few bowls of those old sugary favorites of my childhood--Frosted Flakes, Lucky Charms, Peanut Butter Crunch--for nostalgia's sake.

I voted for Raisin Bran, but I also like that Special K: Fruit & Yogurt which is a close behind.

These two have been a regular choice in our cabinet for a long time now. They go fast.

As a kid I loved the original Cap'n Crunch and Cookie Crisp, though I'd eat any sugary cereal except for Apple Jacks. No wonder I was constantly bouncing off the walls.

As an adult, I stick with more "mature" (non sugared stuff) cereals like Corn Flakes or Cheerios...and then I load up each bowl with sugar. TeddyR
