Wow, it's already June?! Damn, 2008's disappearing faster than a 6 pack in Joe Don Baker's fridge... Anyway,
The Tomb of Anubis had a hefty week these last 7 days, so here's what you missed if you haven't stopped by:
On Monday, in celebration of
Memorial Day, we at the Tomb celebrated the life of the long gone Donald Pleasence with a trio of reviews: Ragnarok traipsed the British underground with Donald Pleasence and Christopher Lee in the proto-CHUD movie
Raw Meat; Fistula traveled to the 5th Dimension where Donald Pleasence retired from teaching only to communicate with his dead ex-students in the Twilight Zone episode, "
The Changing of the Guard"; and Anubis hitched a flight over the Italy where Donald Pleasence played the evil terrorist Kobras in a battle of goofy costumes with
The Pumaman.
Then, come Thursday, Anubis's batteries were recharged enough to tackle his latest entry in the "52 Project": director-writer-producer Larry Cohen's technically inept but conceptually awesome religious roller coaster
God Told Me To.
Oh yeah, and for everybody who participated in our first (of hopefully many) monthly door prize giveaways, we've chosen our winner and runner-up thanks to
www.random.org and both have been contacted! Once they've accepted their prizes, we'll post notification on the site. So, if you entered and didn't receive notification, well, sorry but it looks like you lost. And if you didn't enter? Well, that's your own fault. Maybe if you'd paid more attention to our bulletins or just taken the two minutes out of your busy life to fill out the application form, your DVD collection could be one movie larger right now. Something to think about the next time we try to give you something for free, eh?
