The Machine Girl (aka Katuaude mashin gâru) is written and directed by Japanese director Noboru Iguchi, and stars Minase Yashiro as Ami Hyuga - the main and titular character. Ami Hyuga is like any other young college girl. She loves her younger brother and she can shoot some mean hoops. After her parents commit suicide due to her father being set up on murder charges, she’s left in charge to take care of her younger brother Yu. Yu is generally a good kid, he doesn’t usually get into too much trouble, but lately that’s changed. Yu and his friend Takashi have recently gotten involved with the son of a yakuza, Sho. They’ve gotten into a situation where they owe money to Sho, who would rather punish them then take the 20,000 yen they were able to raise. Sho gives them a day extension to raise 200,000 yen - an impossible task for a couple of high school students. When Yu and Takashi can’t come up with the money, Sho and his gang of bullies drop them off a parking structure onto their heads.

I would not put it in the "Good Movies" portion of this forum.

If you like blood/gore, then it has that in spades.  Other than that's is a B/C level revenge action flick with over the top gore effects and fairly mediocre acting/writing/plot with the one clever part of the girl seeking revenge with a gatling gun strapped to the stump of her arm

You could make that argument about any movie, some people like it, some people don't.

The cover looked interesting as the Best Buy near my house got this in stock this week.    A Japanese girl in a school girl outfit with a gatlin gun attached to the stump of her arm?   Along with buckets of gore?  Sign me up!

Finally got around to catching this the other night.

Lots of fun, when they go to CGI gore, it's really dodgy, but the movie wisely keeps the buckets (and I mean BUCKETS) of gore to practical effects.

The acting is pretty bad all around but everyone was clearly having fun making this.  And the actress who played Ami  was gorgeous as well.  On the making of featurette, this was the first acting job that she's ever done. She does a good job all things considered.

I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?

I just watched this, enjoyed it immensely, it is way over the top. This film has everything, ninjas, yakusa, corrupt police, school bullies, cute girls, glaves, flying guillotines, katanas, arm mounted gatling guns, martial arts, mayhem, murders and literally buckets of blood. The amount of gore is so great that it became a joke to my wife and I. While you might not want to buy this, it is worth watching.
Now to qualify this I must admit that while we watched it we were drinking coffee that had a liberal amount of Bailey's in it, that may have added to the enjoyment.

This film is awesome and is one of the best film's I've seen this year.  Not good as in Oscar award winning, but good in that I was entertained 100% of the way through.  Minase Yashiro, who plays Ami, did a very good job considering her limited experience.  She was also the only one of the three main females who isn't a porn star in real life!  The film review made a proud entry on my website.  I got a hold of director Noboru Iguchi's Sukeban Boy to see if it is a wild as Machine Girl.

Haven't seen it mentioned, but if you like this genre of entertainment, I recommend Chocolate. Not on the gory level, but fun on the kickass level. Think of it as Rainman meets Tony Jaa.
