I absolutely agree with you that this is pretty awful.

Of course, have you seen part 4?

The third part is, IMO, the best of the sequels. Of course, if someone is a dimwitted gore freak they probably love this part 2.

Let's not even mention that horrible remake.

yeah I saw the remake and got fairly bored, but didn't think it was offensively bad, tbh

not seen Part 4...I'll stick it low down on my list - in case of emergency  Smile.

Not gonna lie to you, I feel that the second TCM is by far the best of them all.  It didn't take itself seriously, didn't care what kind of impact the original made and went for a completely different look and feel.

That scene with Hopper finding the guts in the walls and screaming "IT'S COMING DOWN!" before ripping through the walls just gets me every time.  This film is classic in every sense of the word and gets way too much hate.  I honestly can't recommend it enough!

I couldn't agree with you more.  I think that people didn't like the 2nd one when it originally came out due to the fact that they weren't expecting it to be so damn funny.

I'm certain that somewhere on this board there is a playroom for the 5 year olds.

I'm 33 actually. So you didn't like the movie and others did and found it funny. No loss either way.  It's just a movie.

was it really 'intentionally' funny? in that case they didn't quite make it intentional enough tbh...I mean why reduce the original to a farce anyway. why do that to an audience, who is clearly expecting something more along the lines of the original, which the trailer definitely makes it look like...

Small | Large

scary trailer...and in no way indicative of the film. sorry Im not convinced guys!

This movie was marketed horribly.  It should've been marketed as more of a black comedy satire of the original instead of the scary angle they took with it like Depressed Crack Addict stated.

I personally loved Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2's heaping helping of cheese BounceGiggle Chop-Top lighting the hanger up and scratching his head with it weirded me out when I first saw it since i didn't know about the plate and all I could think was, "How are you still showing this guy around? It's a bad idea!" The dance between Leatherface and Vantia (decked out in someone else's face Buggedout ! ) still strikes me as one of the more unusual things that my bad movie adventures have led me to.

I believe your opinion of TCM 2 depends on your opinion of the original.  I dislike the original, pure and simple.  It's not really that good of a film in my opinion.  The sequel was a big surprise just because of how different it was from the original.  It's absolutely hilarious and I think that Tobe Hooper knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he made this film.

Could it be that he was p**sed after being pigeonholed as a horror director, always being known of as that guy that made TCM?  Maybe he wanted to take the p**s out of his own film and decided to make a satire.

No, I quite liked it myself.  Even liked the prequel sequel that they made after that.  Probably better than the remake.

2 was great, and I agree with you.  Plus I like that Primus sampled Chop Top in a song. Smile

Of the films, TCM 4 starring Renee Zellwegger and Matthew McChaughahey (spelling?) was just downright an abomination.

ok, well I was wrong , seems quite a few of you like this film. that's fair enough, this is 'bad movies'... but not to keep going on about it but for me TCM2 fell into the category of Bad Bad - as opposed to Good Bad, i.e something like Wraith, to keep it in the vaguely horror/comedy genre...

Liking this piece of s**t movie is just part of the idiot faction of this board. They're relatively harmless, but you really got to wonder what kind of drugs they did early in life.
