A good bad movie is like popcorn for the soul!

This Anchor Bay direct-to-video horror film sounded cool, the preview made it look kind of awesome, but in the end, it failed to deliver.

Here's the setup - three college age guys and three hot girls are are driving down into Mexico to shoot an amateur porn flick at Cabo San Lucas and get lost.  They are told of a short cut that will take them through the ghost town of Sangre de Dios.  One of the guys, a big-time Lucha Libre fan, recognizes the town as the place where the legendary, super-strong Luchador El Mascado (?) was banished after he went crazy and began ripping the faces off of his opponents 50 years before.  Turns out ol Mascado was actually kind of a Franken-wrestler made of the body parts of three famous Luchadors who disappeared right before he came out of nowhere and took the wrestling world by storm in the early 60's.

OK, so they get to the village, the van breaks down, they decide to shoot a scene for their movie, El Mascador is still alive, boobies are shown (tjhough far fewer than the trailer led you to believe), and faces get ripped off.

In short, the best I can say about this one is that it was OK.  Not nearly as good as HATCHET, which I think it was trying to mimic, but better than a lot of the video schlock I've wasted money on this summer.

Anybody else seen it?

I've yet to see this, but do want to pick it up.  When I initially saw it in the store, and saw the title, I thought it was starring Rey Mysterio JR, as he had been absent from WWE Tv for months, so I thought Vince McMahon had produced it (he has a movie studio now.)

Then I read the back and found out it was in fact Rey's uncle that was the star, but the description sounded interesting enough.

Sounded like a generic run of the mill horror flick.  I figured it'd be better than most I've seen.  Is it worth picking up?  Like, it can't be worse than Island of the Dead or House of the Dead, can it?
