Columbia recently released 2 great Three Stooges boxed sets with the classic shorts presented in chronological order.  The first set is 1934-1936 (19 shorts) and the second set is 1937-1939 (24 shorts).  I've finished all the 1934 shorts and am well into 1935.  These are the sharpest quality video and audio 3 Stooges transfers I've ever seen.  Even the first episode (WOMAN HATERS from 1934, in which all the dialogue rhymes) looks like it was filmed yesterday.  This is classic stuff and seeing the episodes in chronological order lets you witness the evolution of the Stooges' comedy style and the development of each of their characters.  I can't wait for the next volume to be released.

I recently ordered these, and have been waiting for them.  Have not watched "The Three Stooges" in years, but they were a big part of my childhood and just thinking of them brings back memories that make me smile.  Thanks for getting my anticipation going even more than it was.

Are they uncut? Or have they fell victim to the PC world ... a few of the early one had some themes that would be politically incorrect in todays "You-can-offend-anybody" world. I haven't seen uncut ones in decades. Much like the early Tom and Jerry and Loony Toons.

I ordered these as well, and received the second collection today. I hoping the first one will turn up tomorrow. The obsessive-compulsive fan in me wants to watch 'em in chronological order.  TeddyR

I'm thinking these are uncut, at least none of the reviews I read mentioned anything about any PC editing. I would imagine the Stooge fans giving these very favorable reviews would have screamed "NIAGRA FALLS! SLOWLY I TURNED! STEP BY STEP! INCH BY INCH!" if they had been cut in any way. The only complaints I saw were from folks who had bought all the other previous Stooges DVD releases ("Now I have to buy these releases!"), which happily, I did not.  Twirling

The irony is the the guys in the Three Stooges never really profited from their popularity. They didn't get a raise for 23 years do to their not really know how popular they really were. They weren't broke by any means buy never made anything close to the money that the studios made off of them.

IMHO the eps with Curly are the only ones worth seeing, Shemp is bearable. Curly Joe and Joe Besser were just very poor replacements.

I'm going to have to order these, I have a complete collection but they are not that great in quality, some weak Chinese ripoff I get of iOffer. Most of the DVD's collections on there have turned out to be Chinese ripoffs, so I stopped buy there long ago.

Do you mean the ones where Moe plays Hitler, those were hilarious.  In fact, they should be applauded for that bravery, being Jewish.

Still, I love the stooges I'm going to have to get this set.

These appear to be uncut as the ones I have watched so far could be offensive to women, various ethnic groups, and the homeless (ya gotta love those Depression Era stories).

I have to see about getting these.  I try to watch them on Sundays, as they get shown from time to time, barring any baseball games being on.
