I would say, start off with a horror-comedy like Evil Dead 2 or Army of Darkness, or something with gratuitous nudity.
about the nudity part. some of my friends are girls.

And???

Plan 9 from outer space, killer klowns...and beers

Ah I forgot about Killer Klowns from Outer Space!  Easy to watch, got crazy clowns [or is it Krazy Klowns?]

Plus a tracker poodle made out of balloons and a somewhat terrifying 'puppet' scene!

I believe Army of Darkness may have been the first film where I was conscious of intentional badness (well, intentional comic bits) Smile .

Have you seen the other movie I mentioned, the lost skeleton of cadavra that one is hilarious with its intentional badness. It is making fun of 1950's sci-fi movies.

It's currently on my "to see" list, but not very high.

I use the MST3K approach.  If they don't like the movie, hopefully they like Mike and the Bots jokes.

Or movies that are funny to almost everyone like Killer Klowns.

Dead Alive or They Live are choices you may consider..

I freakin' loved Lost Skeleton of Cadavara, but some on this site didn't care for it so much --
I thought it found the absolutely correct pitch of these films from the '50's and early '60's -- "Dance, Animalia, Dance!!"
Plus, much of it was filmed in Bronson Canyon.
But, yeah, it's not a REAL badmovie, in the sense that the people involved were consciously trying to reproduce that . . . certain feeling one gets from the genuine article -- sort of like "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" --
Anyway, Lost Skeleton has elements of many of these cheese-plate films we all enjoy as well-preserved as lark's tongues in aspic.
peter johnson/denny DANCE, ANIMALIA, DANCE!!!!

For Your Height Only.

A friend of mine had a 'Nerd Weekend'. Games, movies and what not. I couldn't make it but MADE him get that disk from netflicks. It was the last night around 2 AM, all were tired and about to go to bed when he goes "Oh yeah J made me rent this movie, sounds kinda goofy, lets just check it out."  2 hours later they were all still up, crying with laughter.

And the second feature on that disk, Challenge of the Tiger, so good.(boobs, do not fear them)

also...
Blacula
Switchblade Sisters
Horrors of Spider Island
The Devil's Sword
Any Santo movie
Deathmachines(more boob)
Blood of Fu Manchu
Yokai Monster movies(3 of them)
42nd Street Forever trailer disks(boob, boob and more boob)

Circle of Iron aka The Silent Flute is pretty bad but good in a hilarious way. It was dubbed 'the mystical martial art movie; i'm not sure what your tastes are but most people can find atleast one thing amusing about it.

What I find usually works is showing friends movies that feature known directors or actors early in their careers. Did your friends like the Spider-Man flicks? Introduce 'em to the Evil Dead trilogy and Intruder. Did they like the Lord of the Rings trilogy? Blow their minds by showing them where Peter Jackson originated from with Bad Taste, Dead Alive, and Meet the Feebles. Does your female friend like Titanic? Show her Piranha 2: the Spawning. Sylvester Stallone fans? Death Race 2000. Leonard DiCaprio? Critters III. Jennifer Aniston? Leprechaun. Arnold Schwarzenegger? Hercules In NY. Just find a list of mainstream stars who started in b-flicks and you'll have something to start with.  TeddyR

If nothing else, I agree with Serpent on breaking out some MST3K DVDs. There are a number of in-jokes that your friends might not get, but there are plenty of other jokes that are universal. We introduced a friend of ours to Mike and the bots via the Giant Spider Invasion and Riding With Death episodes and she's been quoting them ever since.
