I've said it before and I'll say it again, the gene pool is getting a bit muddy for the human race...

Okay, so we're all going to throw away our futures together.  Agreed?

Nice, the town gets some bad press and the mayor (hate to judge a book by its cover, but she looks kind of obnoxious) sticks her nose in.

I find a stupid "I will if you will" scheme among teenage girls more plausible than a principal just making something like that up. No doubt he's been told to keep his mouth shut or look for a new job.

But you have to admire the inventive excuses. Its apparently perfectly normal for the teen pregnancy rate to quadruple from one year to the next. It's happening everywhere. And, of course, the principal might have misunderstood the intentions of these 17 girls who got knocked up at the same time. They made a pact because they were pregnant. That makes perfect sense to my wife, Morgan Fairchild. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I guess this opens up a whole discussion on teen pregnancy.  What is everyone's feelings on it such as who to blame, why is there so much of it nowadays, etc?  Its hard for me to talk openly around my wife about this issue because her mother was pregnant at 17 with her.  Her mother struggled for several years and now she works in a high position for a bank.

To truly comprehend the work raising a kid from diapers to adult, it is unfathomable from a video or after school special.  I thought of these videos today and how they were being shown constantly in my middle school and HS.   I'm not sure if that has changed, perhaps Patient 7 can weigh in on this seeing he's still in HS.  Showing these videos in health class kind of serves no purpose IMHO. Same thing with videos about avoiding drugs and alcohol.

A lot of youngsters are under the impression that stuff like getting knocked up couldn't happen to them.  Then again, you have the idiotic lot (perhaps these teens if it was in fact a pact) who are actually trying to get pregnant. They have their life in front of them, become a parent after you've truly found out who you are is what I say.  That and the state won't have to pick up yet another dependent.

I could write a book on this but I won't, I've seen it to many times. I was nearly 32 when my first child was born. I had more than enough time to be a kid, to sew oats and be irresponsible. In other words when I was a child I did childish things.

Raising a kid is not child's work and it's not the grandparents work. I'm no prude but the crap you see on TV, the internet, magazines, billboards, etc just drip porn and sex and this is the crap we see all day every day. I can't watch some channels when the kid is up do to not know if a Girls Gone Wild commercial is going to come on. This is fine an dandy for adults to see but not kids and they see it and they get this idea it's OK, well it's not.
These girls that had kids likely thought oh babies are cute, lets have one ... well girlfriend it's a baby not a puppies and you're going to have it for a very long time. The world we live in is instant gratification, want something, buy it, have it delivered over night.

Does no one earn anything anymore, work and save to get something? It all plays into these kids having kids, no understanding or respect for doing without, they want something they tell mommy and daddy and they get it. They want a baby they get it without the maturity to understand you can't just toss it in the closet when you're tired of it. When my kid wants something they get a empty jar to save money to buy it. I'll match what ever they save and earn and they have to earn it, they just don't get an allowance they get paid by the work they do ... no work, no money. So they have learned to wait for things and then they have a great respect for what they've got. Many parents don't teach that value anymore and it's all about values.
I'll use a word the left hates, it's called "Family Values" there is something to them that ain't all bad.

One little squirt and their childhood is poof - gone - out the window. They sold it and sadly the kid they're having with pay that price. I herd one of the parents say something stupid like "I had no idea she was doing these kind of things!??" what my question is "Why the hell not? Where were you and why do you not know what your kid is doing?"

Keep the computer and TV out of the bedroom and know what your kids are up to, it's not snooping and called being responsible.

Here's a bit of insight on this, kids are stupid.  Well, MOST kids are stupid.  Most people I see act like they are invincible, they do (or at least claim to) do whatever they want whenever they want and act oppressed when consequences set in.  It is this setup of bragging and lies that cause stupid things (like 17 girls getting all preggo) to happen.  However, the videos the school systems show us are inadequate.  Although informative, they deliver it in ways you would for a ten year old.  Therefore nobody pays attention and 17 girls get all preggo.
