I caught the last 10 minutes of this movie on a Saturday in the mid-80s.

A husband is trying to get away from the government and to protect his wife by leaving town. He calls her from a remote phone booth along the road and tells her he's fine. Immediately after hanging up, he is vaporized by a ray from a satellite.

The movie ends with his wife hanging up and watching the TV...the camera angle switches to the TV to show us that the "TV" is watching her.

Thank you all.
