Well, the nice thing about these long lists is that they might introduce someone to something they have never heard of or seen before.  If anything, I would suggest that we not limit them to 100 entries.

The 100 lists are some of my favorite threads. I LOVE the idea Darksider came up with in the off-topic board for the 100 Candies. Looking through the Spaceships and Vehicles threads is really getting the brain working in regards to movies I've watched, and seeing some that intrigue me.

I'm with Andrew on the whole "introduce new things to people" use for the lists. Every time I think I've seen a lot of bad movies, stuff like the "100 Movie Monsters" thread makes me realize I've only dipped my toes in the pool. My NetFlix queue and "out-of-print want list" have put on some weight over the last few weeks as a result!

They are great!  It's really cool trying to dig about for good pictures to use and it keeps everyone's brains fresh with different stuff which helps when guys an gals come on here asking for information. I especially liked the monsters one to see what everyone would mention and it's cool seeing stuff you haven't before and then going and checking movies out.  More! More I say!

I enjoy looking through the lists, shows me things I haven't seen and would like to see, also things that I have seen and wouldn't mind seeing again along with the occasional if I watch this it will hurt and leave a mark on my brain. I think they're fun.
