We are going to be moving in a few months into a situation where we will have Internet access but no TV/DVD player.  No problem for DVD' them on the laptop, but what about the occasional desire for TV?

I do watch some stuff on computer with various streaming sites, like  Only have had a response problem once.

I've been looking into satellite tv software that lets one access satellite programming over the 'net.  I prefer a Linux solution, and ran across this site:

Satellite TV with Linux

Bodie:      I've been giving myself shock treatments.
Professor Hathaway: Up the voltage.

I don't know about your site, but I went to something called ... I paid 50 bucks for it and it sucks. Most of the "movie" channels have the same damn thing (or two) over and over and over and over and over again.
Half the links don't work ... just a bunch of bulls**t. I would advise against it if you can.
If you want to watch some bad old sci fi (that's why we're here isn't it?) you can go to and watch for free.
