I love stuff like this! I remember seeing something similar years ago, but it was a man that kept morphing. It's really screwed up, like you're on acid.  Buggedout

That's a pretty messed up cartoon.
If you were on acid or shrooms it'd probably give you a bad trip and you'd have to be calmed down by friends.   Buggedout

I really like the comment on youtube that says "This is obviously a protest about the war in Iraq"

 TeddyR

Wacko clip.  Is it just me or did anyone else enjoy the bit with the girl sort of flipping and her head became her 'other bit' then became her head again as she moved?

Was an interesting visual to be sure.   Thumbup

Incidentally this reminds me of MTV, mainly vague memories of parts of Beavis and Butthead, but I very much get the impression that in the early 90s MTV looked like this a fair lot of the time, just with more violence and less va-jay-jay.

Shrooms?  No.
Acid?  Yes.

A few times...a long time ago when I was in my early 20's.
Haven't done it since.

Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

« Reply #10 on: August 25, 2008, 07:59:03 AM »

I personally appreciated the subcontext of the piece; that is, that even as women chase the "white rabbit" of equality, they often find that the wonderland they thought they would find is more nightmarish than wonderful, and that they often will be either saved or destroyed by their own femininity. As the animation begins, we see the proverbial white rabbit racing against a tortoise. This references, of course, the fable of "The Tortoise and the Hare," which teaches the lesson that "slow and steady wins the race." It is the rabbit we are interested in here, however, and the rabbit is not interested in "slow." Instead, it races along and enters the rabbit hole, which immediately is transformed into Alice's vaginal opening. In a rush to follow the rabbit, Alice dives in and finds herself falling into Wonderland. We can see through this the animator's argument that women rushed headlong toward a goal of equality, believing this to be a grand fantasyland where they could cure the world's ills. Instead, however, they found a nightmarish world of corporate greed and lust for power that ended up swallowing them and often forcing them to either give up their femininity or be consumed by it. The Alice in this animation finds herself falling back on and into herself, confused and torn apart by trying to balance her feminine self and her desire to achieve her goal. In this insane world, she contends with male and female antagonists, all of whom are bent on denying her her goal. In symbolic terms, this equates to the people (both male and female) who oppose the women trying to achieve societal and political equality, and it also argues that all participants in the battle are to some degree insane.
