Wow what a classic this film is.   The Story Of Ricky is miles ahead better than Fist Of The North Star and Crying Freeman.  (The live action versions)  Where to start?  How about the fact that a guy tries to strangle Ricky with his own intestines?  Or for that matter how Ricky uses a meatgrinder to kill the main bad guy  or the fact that people are crucified,  decapitated by head crushes (What most likely inspired Jax's Mortal Kombat II's fatality)  and of course a warden who keeps mints in his glass eye.  In terms of kung fu it is all well done and this movie is one of the best things out of Hong Kong.   Also this movie is probably the closest we'll ever get to a Chuck Norris Fact movie.

Also how many eyeballs were knocked out of sockets?

I got this on DVD only paying a 11 bucks,  but even though rate at amazon is 20 bucks it's well worth it.  I mean movies don't get this surreal.   Simply put, a true classic.

This is one of the best (and worst) films I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The scene with much concern over the death & crucification of a fellow inmate that Riki fought Oscar (one of the gang-of-4), but no-one blinked an eyelid over the poor bloke who had his head terminally happy-slapped, was hillarious. BTW I think the crows expected mints when Oscar's eye "flew" accross the courtyard - obviously Crows are not keen on intestines though.

I found the film extremely funny, with many, many, random, unexpected funny gruesome moments. And near the end when the Warden's arms "grew" in length, it reminded me of Mr Tickle from the Mr-Men.

Make sure you watch the dubbed version - it makes the film 100% funnier.

The first time I watched this movie, I watched it over and over again for like 5 times in a row.  This has to be the most amazing thing ever put out on film.  I still watch it like once a week and each time I find something new, like in one part how it's only raining on Riki, or the pornos on the shelf in the assistant warden's office.

"Rogan's kung fu is unorthodox"  That's gotta be the best line ever in any movie.  Where's the sequel already :P

Little known fact: the guy who played ricky's kung fu master should be recognizable from The Last days of planet earth 1974 as Dr. Nishyama the scientist no one would listen to about the end of the world.
