Oh man, the one that immediately comes to mind?

No.2 - Crossed Swords (NeoGeo) - First played this on a NeoGeo multi-game arcade machine at the local bowling alley when I was about 12. Far as I know it's the 1st "first person slasher" game ever made. Awesome arcade fun that I'd love to see get a Wii makeover ala the similar Dragon Quest title currently available. TeddyR

4. DOOM

Was the daddy of shoot-'em ups in it's day. I had the PSX version, which I thought was graphically just as good as the other consoles' versions. People also complained about the change in music, but the atmospheric sound effects just added more to the isolation and blood-shed! A true classic  Thumbup

5.) Wolfenstein 3D

Following up on Circus's Doom nomination, I had to add this one.  This game brings me back to Word Processing class in high school.  When the teacher wasn't looking, I'd play the game because someone put it on the school's network drive.  Good times, good times.

6. STREETS OF RAGE

The best side-scrolling beat 'em-up I've ever played. I used to spend hours on this game after I had first played it at friend's house, I loved it. Throwing guys through telephone boxes, stabbing hooker-ninjas with broken bottles....It had great music too.

7) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PlayStation.  Man, I can't count the number of times I played through that one.  And the music...

10. Resident Evil 2

2nd best game I've ever played. Improves on the first installment in every way; graphics, story, characters, gameplay and overall atmosphere. This was as close as you could get to what a "Dawn Of The Dead" game might've been like.  Thumbup

11.) Killer Instinct

I actually started playing this game after the initial popularity and fell in love with it.  Especially the ultra combos.

Ed unfortunately, I beleive you are about to be banished to the netherrealm for posting more than once in a 100 list.   Wink

I guess while I'm posting I shall get the obvious out of the way.

No.15 - X-Kaliber 2097 - A hack-n-slash adventure title I played for hours on the SNES in my younger days. I picked it up recently on an emulator and realized just how soft I've gotten from today's simplified "make it easy so everybody thinks they're good at videogames" fare.
