seen this now... slightly disappointed with how s-l-o-w moving it is. ended up watching on 1.5X speed on the DVD player and still seemed too slow...decent enough curio item though. 6/10 gotta remeber...your dealing with a film maker whose speaciality is focusing...for a LOOOONG time....on extended gore....playing with eyeballs, fondling guts....or as in his earlier films, on tiittties. Not Orsen Welles or  even Russ Meyer.  This ain't ART. This is EXPLIOTATION. Made by a then already outdated directer.

yeah fair point Im mainly talking about the scenes in between the gore, storyline type stuff...will try and check some of the other recommendations in this thread still if I can. cheers

My point exactly. The scenes in between the gore...are EXTREMLY BORING. The GORE GORE GIRLS is a very nearly unwatchable film...namley because the inbetween scenes(with the wise ass feh detecive) are irritating or boring as hell. Lewis was a one trick pony. It was a good trick...untill modern film makers caught up...and ultimatly surpassed him. After films like the EXORCIST, Last HOUSE on the LEFT and DEEP THROAT...his style aged quite rapidly.. And yes. I find most of his work quite boring. 2000 MANIACS is my mind...his best film. And not because of the gore. Because of the GREAT Bluerass music.

You may enjoy 2000 MANIACS as favorite of HG's movies...(it has bluegrass music!)

HGL actually sang the 2000 Manics song at the begining of the film. He came to town a couple years ago for a screening of 2000 Manics and Blood Feast. After answering some questions and telling some great movie making stories he got up in front of the crowd and sang the 2000 Maniacs theme. What a great guy.
