You always know what you're gonna get with AC/DC, good time rock n' roll. 

Admittedly, I 've never been a big AC/DC fan, I own about 3 of their records, but I have huge respect for them.

It's a shame though, that alot of older artists leave it so long between making records.

I'm more of a Bon Scott era fan as I feel that they had more variety in their sound during the seventies. They peaked on Back in Black and have been more hit/miss since then as Brian Johnson's singing style painted them into a stylistic corner over time that they have had trouble getting out of.   But they've never released a "bad" album though that just stunk front to back either. This new song sounds cool and the album itself is getting some of their best reviews in years so far. Dig the video as well!

Is it me or has AC/DC released the Black Album several times already? I heard their new one on the radio the other day and they had Brian Johnson commenting on it.  He was saying how sound wise it showed the diversity of the band.  Before I heard the song I thought to myself, "There will be a guitar with no rhythm section opening, a one-two drum beat and a cock-rock chorus that gets repeated several times throughout the song".  I was right for the most part.

  They know and their fans know they're not the most technically gifted set of musicians, but they're good at what they do. An honest rock band, like the Ramones & Motorhead for example.

When I was in high school (78-82), I didn't like AC/DC.

There were a lot of bands I didn't like for stupid reasons, and some that I did for just as stupid reasons.

I mostly avoided AC/DC until my later 20s.

AC/DC, as has already been said, was simply an honest band. Unlike bands that try to evolve and end up being classified as 'remember when they were good', AC/DC is one band that has always given exactly what you expect from them.

They've had highs and lows, but even if the album was a letdown as a whole, they produced a hit or two that was simply AC/DC and rocked.

Not only do they rock, I hear they have big balls.

I kind of got into them when Maximum Overdrive was released.  After seeing it on HBO, I picked up Who Made Who on cassette tape.

Phased out of them for a while and then got back into them pretty heavily when they released The Razor's Edge.

Very true. There are a number of AC/DC albums that I don't find particularly stunning as a whole, but I can't think of a single one that doesn't have at least one or two songs I love on it, and usually more. I agree that AC/DC is one of those bands that understand their own appeal and try not to deviate too much from what works. While many other bands feel a need to evolve and reinvent themselves (which works fine for some of them), they are who they are and make no apologies for it. Good old, dependable AC/DC. The soundtrack of my youth and still high on my playlist.

In the case of AC/DC, Angus Young had reconstructive surgery on both knees which involved quite a long recovery period for him.

The band has stayed busy in terms of releasing DVD's and stuff like that. They're really in a position that they don't have to release albums all that frequently anymore, but I would like more product more often if they could do it.
