Hi everyone!
This IS my first post, but I promise I will talk about other stuff besides my movie...I'm still getting the hang of the boards, but I'm happy to be here 

Anyway...in addition to running a Midnight Movie Film Festival in Sacramento called the TRASH FILM ORGY, I also recently finished a feature film called MONSTER FROM BIKINI BEACH. It is the story of a primordial fiend who rises from the murky depths to quench its insatiable lust for Bikini-Clad Beauties!

We don't mind people coming here to talk about their projects, in fact, we like it.  We just hate when the director posts pretending to be a random fan and praises his or her own movie.

Looks like my kind of film.  If you don't mind my asking, what is the budget for making this kind of thing today?  And, do you expect to get a distributor soon, or are you going to try to market it yourself?

Yes, we swoop down upon anyone with utmost vengeance looking to exploit the board but you seem to be cool and upfront about it so welcome.  Your film seems to have a 60s monster movie vibe to it which I can dig.

I know Christy^ too guys. We did tiny scoops on this flick on both of the sites that I'm at, after I came across it. She came in and posted comments on them. She was also cool enough to send us screeners. The film was totally awesome. It's one that's got a lot of us very excited. She's also a member of the 'Retromedia' boards that I'm a member of. Since, the her initial comments on the posts we've become friends. She's great and we think the world of her. You don't find many women that love monster movies so. I posted it around on several forums as well, but only to help spread the word on it and share my excitement with others. You can ask her for yourselves if I work for her.

Yes...we definitely were going for the 50s/60s monster-on-a-rampage feel with a bit of 70s exploitation thrown in for good measure (that means lots of blood and lots of boobies!)

And Rev...
Not sure if we're typical, but we managed to make the movie essentially out of pocket for about $5K, although we were able to get ridiculous amounts of volunteers (nobody was paid) and free stuff because of the reputation we've gained from doing the film festival (we just finished our 8th season!). And while we are doing some self-distributing (through our web-site and at our shows), we have just gotten a pretty fair worldwide distribution deal that we are about to accept. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about that!

^^ YAY!! Does that mean that we'll get a legit DVD release with extras?? I got my screener, and it's awesome[one of the best looking I've ever seen] but would definitely still purchase an official DVD.

We'll see how many 'extras' we can get together, but yeah...legit!
If all goes well though, we'll get the surround sound on there! woohoo!

Hi!
Just wanted to let any East Coast folks know that MONSTER FROM BIKINI BEACH will be playing at the Roxy Cinema in Burlington, Vermont on Fri. Oct. 17th and Sat. Oct. 18th at midnight!!!
Please support our film by seeing it in the theatre if you are near there.
