Pure satire, don't let it go over your head:

I saw that, and GAWD but it was lame.  He was reading straight off of notecards, and it was completely unfunny.  I actually did like him doing SNL Weekend Update, but now I can understand why he was not one of the favorite cast members over those years.

I actually loved it, couldn't keep from giggling throughout the whole thing.  I'm sure he did the corny jokes and the reading off notecards as a purposeful gag, sort of an Andy Kaufmanesque bad comic routine.  And I love the technique where he tells a lame joke, and then explains the obvious punchline in so much detail that I can't keep a straight face.  "Bob has lots of well-wishers here; they want to push you in a well! [Pause].  They want to murder you by pushing you in a well.  [Pause].  Seems kind of harsh, but apparently they want to murder you in a well, it says on this card."

That was pretty funny, in that it made me laugh.

I had to stop watching those roasts. The funny bits are few and far between, and it annoys the hell out of me when a comedian gets up and roasts everybody on the stage except for the person who is supposed to be roasted. (Or worse, performs their act.)

Norm is very under rated and I can understand everyone not getting his humor, but I do.
I can kind of understand Saget being roasted, but Flava Flav?I wish someone would really roast him..on a spit.Without a doubt the ugliest and most annoying C-lebrity on Earth.

Norm MacDonald, Jim Norton and Gilbert Gottfried were the best part of the roast of Bob Saget.  Norm and Gilbert have this underlying sensiblity or something that makes them geniuses.  They can have very smart material and be hilarious, or have crappy material but still be funny with it.

Gilbert is very underrated.

The best part is when that dick(the unfunny comedian i can't remember the name of) says something about Norms bit being more tedious than watching Henry Fonda pick blueberries.
Norm pauses for a moment and than says,"Who wouldn't like to see that"(or words to that effect). The audience applauds and cheers.Norm is quick!
