NO! It comes from a country in the Commonwealth.

Sadly no. The early scenes of the film are set in space.

It's good but it's not right. It's set on Earth. By the sea.

It doesn't star Bette Middler but it is a Canadian production....

Not quite, but the title is a military term relating to a major threat to National Security.

I completely misread your one post about where the space scenes were in the film, and it did make me scratch my head because I thought I knew the film.  However, I was distracted.  Not that having a house with three children who are running around like maniacs right after giving them baths would distract anyone.

When I thought you said it ended in space I was going, "Survivor?"  But I thought that the armored earth mover was from....

I'll go ahead and solve it and I know for certain it's "Def-Con 4."  It's one of the films that I first watched when my mother brought home the VHS from the rental store where she worked.  The cover is actually a pretty awesome cover, and for a cheap post-apocalyptic film it's not bad.  The beginning is pretty darn good.

That's okay, you certainly haven't had the easiest of weeks and you've certainly got your hands full! "Def-Con 4" is spot on!

Any clues?

 Question

It does look like I have seen it before, perhaps some daytime or late night film I flicked onto.

I was worried that this might be a tough one, though I did pick a screenshot that should be very recognizable.  For a clue, this is a 1965 US film, and it is set in the future.

I also find it in the same vein as a lot of the movies I have been watching lately, the Milligan movies and such stuff that makes you scratch your head in amazement that it was made (and you wonder why it was made).
