63.) The Rock

Very good promo man.  Worked hard to improve in the ring.  Didn't mind losing matches to put somebody else 'over.'  Not to mention, he was incredibly popular with the audience.  I mean, here's a guy with possibly one of the worst moves ever, "The People's Elbow" and he makes it POPULAR.  That's a good thing, I suppose.

I liked the Rock a lot.  The guy became a gem on the microphone after his god awful stent as baby face Rocky Maivia. This obviously paid off in Hollywood since he is one of few wrestlers to make it big in film.  As for losing matches to put someone over, its probably the most professional thing to do in wrestling.  That and "selling" the moves their opponants do to them.  Ric Flair was the man at that and The Rock was good also. Sadly, this is something Hogan never seemed to have learned much in his career.   Lookingup

64) AJ Styles

I've always enjoyed TNA's promotion whenever I've watched it, actually alot more than "WWE" - Urrgh, that (E) is painful for me... Bluesad Anyway, AJ styles is a young wrestler that really impressed me, I thought there wasn't really much in the business to innovate - AJ proved me wrong.  Thumbup

65.) Curry Man/Christopher Daniels- Yes they are the same person for those that don't know.

One of the most entertaining and well rounded wrestlers.  Used to watch him here in the Philly area at Ring of Honor, then he 'made it' in TNA.

63.) The Rock

Hogan never did that.  Or when he did, it was few and far between.  Which is why I liked the ECW guys.  They didn't mind 'putting over' another wrestler.  Plus one thing I like about the Rock is the fact that his movies aren't atrocious.  Hogan had some charisma, but made god-awful movies.  Same with Piper.  Piper could act, but made bad choices, like doing Body Slam and things of that ilk, as opposed to stuff like They Live.

67.) Lance Storm

Underrated performer.  Started in ECW, having really great matches with everybody on the roster.  Upped to WCW, where he not only showed that he had personality, but in the span of three weeks won three major titles.  Then got to WWE.  They had no idea what to do with him, and instead of going the route of Benoit and getting him 'over' as a 'wrestler', they decided to have Stone Cold tell the audience to chant 'Boring" at him.  Poor guy.

68) DICK THE BRUISER: Da Crusher's "cousin" and long-running tag team partner, Dick the Bruiser was a legend in his own right rarely, hardly ever losing a match and just bringing the pain to whoever foolishly dared to get in the ring with him. Legit tough as nails, he and Da Crusher were said to train by running down Halstead with barrels of beer on their backs.

70. MIKE AWESOME

say what you might about some of his s**tty WCW gimmicks, but mike awesome was one of the most agile "big men" in the post-ecw wrestling scene. his matches with masato tanaka were essentially the template for "american strongstyle".

69. (we skipped it) Al Snow

Easily one of the most underrated performers of our time.  Also one of the most toughest (he used to train with Dan Severn).  Luckily when the WWF did that reality show, we got to see his strength as a trainer.

No.38 - Chris Benoit - Of course there are going to be some who think that Benoit should be wiped from the records of wrestling history (WWE is still editing his matches and appearances out of DVDs and their OnDemand service), but before the nightmare outside of the ring, the guy was a consummate professional, a total work horse, a skilled athlete, a mentor to a lot of the younger wrestlers, and one of the toughest $2 steaks to walk through the ropes.

I know he wrestled in New Japan Pro Wrestling as well but under the name of The Pegasus Kid and Wild Pegasus back in 89-94, so I wonder if they wiped him from their records or have edited his matches as well.

71. Jeff Jarrett

IMO, one the best wrestlers in the WWF (I refuse to use "WWE") back in the mid 90's. Jarrett has remained a good all round performer and is a fantastic, technical "mat" wrestler when able to put over those skills. I caught TNA the other day and he was having a match with Kurt Angle, which was brilliant and the best wrestling I've seen in years - shame they had to ruin it with interferance. (Does any match end fairly anymore??) A very underrated guy at the end of the day (when all is said and done  TeddyR).

Jeff Jarrett vs Shawn Michaels for the IC title (In Your House '95)

72.) Kurt Angle

Pretty sure he hasn't been mentioned.  Here's a guy with a legit Olympic Gold Medal, and the ability to not only have great matches, but the ability to be a 'heel', a 'face' and a comedy character at the same time.  Like the time he lost to Tazz by submission, but refused to admit he lost because the "Tazz-mission" is a choke and not a legit submission hold.  Or the time that he lost a tag match but said "Because Steve Blackman was pinned and not me, I DIDN"T lose the match.  He did.  My undefeated record is still good." 73) Balls Mahoney

He's just plain sick, like Mick Foley, will do anything to please to crowd and take it to the next level. His matches with Rob Van Dam in ECW are the stuff of legend.  Thumbup

Jerry Lynn vs. Steve Corino.  Shame Lynn never made a 'name' for himself, or  Corino for that matter.

75.) "The Franchise" Shane Douglas
Small | Large

One of the many men who kept the ECW torch lit for so many years.  He hardly resorted to hardcore matches but rather wrestled in many great technical matches.  Vicious on the microphone, Douglas hid nicely the fact he was a  teacher at one point in his life.
