Jocelyn Pook's "Masked Ball" from Eyes Wide Shut gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. Awesome piece! Totally magnificent!

73.  THE GRADUATE - Simon & Garfunkle

"Nichols' masterstroke was to transplant these pre-existing songs into his film, where they not only meshed perfectly with the story's themes of youthful rebellion and alienation but also heralded a new era in movie music centered around the appropriation of past pop hits, a marketing gimmick that grew exponentially in the years to follow."  -Jason Ankeny, All-Music Guide

The Fountain Soundtrack, by Clint Mansell, the Kronos Quartet, and Mogwai is amazing. Say what you will about the movie (I loved it), but the music will tear at you and leave you undeniably moved.

I don't genrally like electronica much, but it was the perfect match for the film.

77. CARNIVAL OF SOULS Organ music by GENE MOORE adds a lot to the mood created by this film.
Skip ahead to 1:55 immediately after the car drops off the bridge, the music starts with the credits.

Going to just name 3 soundtrack/scores that I always felt were classics that were not listed.
78.) Lord of the Rings Trilogy
The soundtrack was great and really help set the tone of the films for me but I am a bit of a fantasy geek.

79.) Far And Away
the movie wasn't that great but the music was. It made watching a crappy film seem like watching an ok film.

80.) The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Swear it's main title theme is one of the ultimate guy music pieces in film. Even if you don't know the film, odds are you know the opening title music.

81. Marathon Man - Already a great thriller, the dark, grating electronic-sounding score makes it all the more effective. Sadly, I can't find a clip, and apparently they never made a soundtrack CD. :(

84. More Herrmann  Smile

THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL

Small | Large

With a brief intro by Herrmann biographer Stephen Smith explaining Herrmann's use of backmasking in the main title music. It's not terribly noticeable, but it does give the music an unearthly edge.

There's a lot more to the soundtrack than just this piece, but I can't anymore on YouTube.
