Obama has changed the way presidential elections will be run from now on. He had quite a network of volunteers setup for canvasing voters, getting people registered to vote, and getting them to the polls to vote.
He raised an ungodly amount of money direct from the people through the internet with the average donation being like $86.
I especially proud that he did all this without resorting to any kind of negative personal attacks his opponent.
I'm also glad he won in a landslide the way he did. Now we get to wait and see if he can bring people together and get us out of the mess Bush has left us.
I voted for
BARACK OBAMA though I had long been an ardent
JOHN McCAIN admirer, but not supporter for President.
McCAIN squandered his "brand" catering to
BUSH,
FALWELL and the Christian Right, compromising and jockeying to center where it really would have mattered to have that
McCAIN gusto...
Anyway, I came to recognize the powerful symbolic nature of what electing the talented
BARACK OBAMA would mean to the world at large; a man of color with an Arab name our President... much of America's prestige and respect would be restored and more importantly the argument against our people as racist significantly undermined. We might be justly characterized as fickle, but we cannot be described as ardent or fundamentalist. Americans adapt and all hope for a change for the better. America proved we are better than we seem, we can change, adapt, and embrace any person of talent and determination as our President.
