Describe the movies you like, and other people will recommend movies to you!

FOR EXAMPLE:

Person #1: I liked (movie) and I love (genre of movie).

Person #2: If you liked (movie), you might also like (movie). If you like (genre of movie), you might like (movie).

Understand?

Here, I'll start:

I really loved Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927), as evidenced by my avatar.

I've actually got BOTH those movies on DVD.  LOL.  Looks like this thread really does work, either that or I'm just too easy to peg for cheezy movie suggestions.   Wink

If you liked Blood Freak you might also like MARTIN.  If you love mutant movies you might like THE TERROR WITHIN.

I liked THE VAMPIRE LOVERS and I love vampire movies.

If you like compelling human dramas, check out Richard Linklater's Before Sunrise (1995) and Before Sunset (2004). Also check out any of the films made by Yasujiro Ozu, especially Floating Weeds (1934)and Tokyo Story (1953).

I like kung fu films that focus on extended training sequences, like 36 Chambers.

If you like Kung Fu films with training sequences, you might like My Kung Fu 12 Kicks (1979), Incredible Kung Fu Mission AKA Kung Fu Commandos (1982) and The Invincible Kung Fu Legs (1980).

I also like Kung Fu films, especially ones with really weird fantasy elements like To Kill With Intrigue (1977) but I really love 1950s British (particularly The Quatermass Xperiment (1955)) and American Science Fiction.

Yes, I recognized JANET GAYNOR and GEORGE O'BRIAN right away.  Interestingly enough, I don't love WILLY WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, tho' I do love some of the songs, and GENE WILDER is perfection... What genre of movie would you say that SUNRISE is?

I really loved LA DOLCE VITA (1960) which I watched again recently and was even more effected by upon subsequent viewing.  Some say this one is a break from Neorealist film, but anyway it may at least be categorized as a drama.

NETWORKNETWORK is a masterpiece.  There is so much to discuss about NETWORK or SIDNEY LUMET
