As far as I'm concerned, Pierce Brosnan is James Bond.  Back when he was Remington Steele, I always thought, That man should play James Bond!

James Bond, for me, is in this order:

Brosnan
Craig
Moore/Connery (tie)
Lazenby
Dalton

I like Dalton and Moore but I think that Connery is the best to date, followed pretty closely by Craig.

I still think that Connery is the definitive Bond but I really enjoyed Brosnan as Bond. Too bad that he only had one truly great script to work with (Goldeneye).

I always liked Brosnan as a Bond, but I must admit I have been developing a loathing for his latter films.

Like Torgo said, he only had one good script to work with, and even that had it's flaws.

Still Casino Royale was a great movie, and Craig was good because of the script.  After Quantum, I'm not so sure how I feel about Craig, but before Quantum I would have thought Craig was on a similar level to Brosnan.

Haven't even seen the Craig films.  For me, it's

Moore - the Bond I grew up with.
Lazenby - don't know if it was the movie, or maybe Diana Rigg, but I like Lazenby.
Dalton - loved License to kill, but Living Daylights was almost completely ruined by that awful female lead.
Connery - yeah, weird I'd put him fourth, but I just didn't get into his movies.
Brosnan - good, but too stiff for my tastes.  Only one good movie, after that he became a superhero instead of a secret agent.  And his movies were almost completely ruined by Judi Dench.  Like, at this point Bond has saved the entire planet from destruction at least ten times, show some respect you dried up old feminazi hag.

I think Connery was best at the beginning of the franchise and was properly replaced by Moore as times changed. I think Lazenby, Dalton, and Brosnan seem to fit in the same "time period" and Brosnan was best for that. I also think Craig is the best shot at transfering Bond into moden times.

Moore/Connery (tie)
Craig

Dalton didn't do a thing for me as bond, and I thought Brosnan was okay, but no great shakes either.

SEAN CONNERY
Perhaps it's nostalgia, but I still enjoy the original films the best.

I think every actor added something different to the role of Bond. When I'm in the mood for a more light-hearted Bond I like Moore, when I want a callous, ruthless womanizing Bond, Connery's my man. Craig was good in Casino but like dean said, after Quantum....well...he needs to establish himself over time before he can beat out Moore or Connery.

Between just Brosnan and Craig, as to who'll make the best Bond? Craig. Actually, I think Craig is on his way to being the best Bond ever, even better than Connery.

As to which one I'd rather watch in a non-Bond film? Brosnan. Brosnan looks like he is having fun in the films he makes. Craig, on the other hand, and it may be just the roles he plays, always looks so dour to me.
