Okay - My father and I are trying to remember the name of this movie.  Neither of us remember who is in in, but we only remember parts or a part of it.
-You reach a certain age and it is your time to die.  However, 2 people escape, I think they are wearing togas or something like that, there are roman columns, they run into an older person who had escaped years ago and he has a library of sorts.  I think they look over a wall when the lights start flashing and people are lined up and walking in a circle and are waiting for the girl to join them.

Please help me with this - I hate having a scene stuck in my head and not knowing what movie it is from!

Could it be Logan's Run?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074812/

There's a mandatory death age of 30. Logan for some reason decides to escape instead. I remember a scene at the end where he discovers Washington, DC, but it is long abandoned and overgrown.

I'm pretty sure there's a remake in the works.

Also, Michael Bay's The Island is a somewhat rip off of Logan's Run too.  For some reason I have a soft spot for that film though lord knows why.  I have a hunch it's because of Scarlett though...

Just to let Dean and everybody else know. Yes, the remake is back on. The planned release date should be sometime in 2010. One of the things the remake is going to do, is to go back to the year of termination in the book. The year of termination in the book was 21. The original film raised the year to 30. The remake is going back to 21.
