I recently bought some Schweigert brand
cervelat summer sausage.
Inside the sausage, there are these little yellow balls. I like to slice the sausage very thin, then dig out these little balls with the tip of the knife and eat them.
They have a mustard-like taste. Are they some sort of mustard?
They're not listed in the ingredients.
I've looked for the answer online and haven't been able to find anything.
Also, I occasionally buy these roast beef on wheat sandwiches from Wal-Mart and they too have little yellow balls in the bread. These are different, though. They're hard and crunchy.
Anyone know what the deal with these little yellow balls are?
