I wish I could be as popular as you think you are.

I told my uncle I'd try to figure out what movie this was. He said all he really remembered about it was a scene where this tree stump - using it's roots as legs - was chasing a bunch of natives. I'm guessing the movie was from the '80s.

Thoughts? [Worth a shot.]

Possibly "From Hell It Came". Although it's from 1957 it does feature a mobile tree stump attacking natives on a tropical Island.

There are few things more beautiful than a sporting montage with a soft-rock soundtrack

Probably From Hell it Came.

The Navy vs. The Night Monsters also has animate trees that attack people on an island.

Could even be Day of the Triffids, not the 1960's film, but the early 80's British TV show.

It's a long shot even still.  It still sounds like it could be From Hell it Came.

Terf:

Ask your uncle if this is the stump he was thinking of:

If so, then From Hell it Came is the movie in question.

the creature from "it conquered the world" sort of looks like a tree stump, if you ask me.

You know, the creature from that flick looks like a lot of different items... most of which would probably get me banned were I to list them here.   Buggedout
