The nominations are in!  Vote for your favorite, or pimp your pet movie and try to get others to vote for it....

I'm voting for DARK KNIGHT as the best of the few on the list I've seen.  I'm usually not much for superhero movies, but this one worked for me.  I have a strong suspicion that IN BRUGES would have been my pick if I'd seen it, though.

Of the seven on this list I've seen, TDK gets top honors, with WALL.E a close second.

I voted Dark Knight.  I quite like Iron Man and Incredible Hulk, and felt they were fun movies.  But I felt the performances of both Aaron Eckhart as Two Face and Heath Ledger as Joker blew them away.

Kneel before Dr. Hell, the ruler of this world!

Doc Daneeka

I second Wall*E, one of the sweetest movies I've seen, which is veddy odd considering it was an animated film about robots, from a studio I often find to be overblown!

For the latest on the fifth installment in Don Coscarelli's Phantasm saga.

Kneel before Dr. Hell, the ruler of this world!

Hammock Rider

Lars and the Real Girl just edged out In Bruges for me only because Lars made me feel better in the end. Both were great movies.
Jumping Kings and Making Haste Ain't my Cup of Meat

In Bruges --

For the best writing I've encountered in book or film in quite some time, plus its visual sense of Western Civilization & mythic overtones.  Plus, the writer/director had only done one other film before this one -- a 20min. short.  This is one impressive feature debut.

I have no idea what this means.

I voted for Iron Man, but Wall-E and The Dark Knight were a tied for second.

While I loved The Dark Knight and many others on this poll, I still feel that Wall-E was the best film overall by an ever so slight margin.

There Will Be Blood is IMO the best on the list, but it's a 2007 movie, I believe. :P

You are correct technically.  I noticed that when another member of the board nominated it.  However, since it had only a limited release in December 2007 and didn't really hit most theaters until 2008, I decided to let it slide.

There's a 3-way tie now between THE DARK KNIGHT,  IRON MAN and WALL-E.  Someone should break deadlock!

Psycho Circus

The Dark Knight is better than Iron Man by a country mile. Even though everyone wants to pick it apart now because it is so lauded, it is a brilliant film. Reminded me of Heat with the execution of some of the scenes. It's the way of society to praise something so much that you end up having to bring it down a peg or two, pathetic really. It's the best here if you consider the levels of action, cinematography and it contains at least one oscar worthy performance by an actor.

Who picked the nominations?

Where is ...

Zombie Strippers
Trailer Park Boys: The Movie
Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead
Ping Pong Playa
Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer
Baghead

(Note IMDB list some if these as 2007, but they weren't release until 2008)
