Return of the killer tomatoes!

I finally sat down and watched this after taking 4 attempts watching the attack of the killer tomatoes in small parts. I was not too keen to repeat the experience with the sequel but I found myself laughing at this film. The channel showing crappy films, the product placement jokes and the awful plot + theme tune.

Now the question remains should I watch the 2 other sequels? I am considering it but not sure may give myself a long break from killer tomatoes for a while.

"I prefer this film."
"Yes so do I but we showed it 3 times last week."

The orginal is pretty crap but with a good name. Return did have some very funny jokes which linked nicely at start and finish.

Includes a cool theme song.

It does not sound like many folks liked the first one as much as I did.  The second one was entertaining but I liked the first one more.  I never got around to seeing the third.

I enjoyed the first but found it nearly unwatchable.

I have the first on DVD and didn't think too much of it.
I was disappointed that the tomatoes didn't have eyes and teeth like on the cover and in the cartoon show.
I think you can watch the whole of Return on youtube...

Yes you can but I bought the DVD dirt cheap with an order of politics books for my course so I am not too annoyed by it.

Lagomorphs: menace or underutilized resource?

I am a big fan of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, but I never liked any of the sequels; the humor just didn't work for me. In the original, the humor worked mostly because it was slightly awkward. There was also much more subtle humor in the first one than in the sequels. As much as I like John Astin in The Addams Family and even in The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., I just don't care for him in most other projects.

Something about the first one just bugged me to the point of unable to sit down and watch it in one go.

It took 4 nights to watch a 70 minute movie.

I found Attack of the Killer Tomatoes to be quite enjoyable.

Goofy as hell, but enjoyable.

Of course, I watched it in one sitting; you may want to try that next time, it apparently works better than breaking it up into 4 parts.

I love the original.  In my mind it just works so well as a spoof of the disaster and "animals attack" films that Hollywood was churning out at the time.

Perhaps I should try drinking as well. I just got so fed up I turned it off every 20 minutes. Maybe I was not in the best mood that week for it,

I'm going to rewatch the orginal some point next week. Hopefully I can get into it more than last time.

I love the original, and find the sequel much less entertaining.  However, it does make sense that if you did not like "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" then you might like "Return."  The third (and following) in the series are different enough that it's a toss-up if you'll like those.  The remainder of the series are all more youth focused than the first two.

My issue with the orginal is it did not hold my interest. While I found parts funny other parts got annoying. It could have just been my mood when I first attempted to watch it.

The 2nd one it seemed like satire of a satire film its the Airplane/Naked Gun like style I enjoyed but was mainly won over by the other film joke and the product placement jokes.

Shame about the other two, it did look like it had decided to aim at a younger crowd but its hard to tell from the cover. O well its worth a shot I am sure I might a cheap laugh somewhere.
