Looking for thriller movie name

There was a movie, more like a miniseries in 3 episodes or so. Probably from Hallmark. It was about a group of people that start vanishing one by one from their town. There is a scene I remember in which two of them are looking over to the sea wondering where all those missing are, and when one turns to the other, he is gone. I'd like to find out the name to try to find the film.

Nope - The Forgotten is about children being taken away as part of an alien experiment to find out if parents could really forget them, and takes place in the present. This movie I'm talking about, takes place probably in the XIX century. No planes or motors yet. There was some talk of demons in the plot, but I'm not sure there was any. Didn't watch enough of it!
