There was a horror film on the Sci-Fi channel that involved a small town close to a lake being invaded by worms, or you could say invertebrates since I remember a millipede. No, its not Squirm. The film began with a dude (the protagonist) and his girlfriend swimming in the lake at night. Then the girlfriend gets bitten in the leg by what they say is some kind of fish. So, the chick gets treated with antibiotics but later in the movie we find out that the worms had been nesting inside her. I remember that when she showed her legs, it was like a flesh eating disease coupled with crawling worms. I also remember the chick was a jealous biatch through the whole movie. I don't remember the name of the movie, so can somebody help??!!

no, it was not that. The movie kind of reminded me of Cabin Fever except that the bacteria was replaced with flesh eating worms that nested inside humans and then burst out.

Possibly "Insecticidal" (2005).

EDIT TO ADD:  I have not seen this film, and believe that the insects are mostly large CGI beetles and such - at least one is a praying mantis.  The film that your post made me think of was "Infested" (2002) - but I believe all of the bugs in that were flying varieties.  They do infest people and use them like meat puppets.

No, they were not insects. They were, annelids- worms, millipedes, the like. They used humans as incubators but not in that sense. For example, if a animal infested with these buggers bit a human, then the human would become infested and start growing the things inside them. Then after consuming them from the inside, they would burst into the world, so to speak. It aired quite often on the Sci-Fi channel.

Wait, thanks akiratubo, it WAS Bug Busters. I just didn't recognize it until I actually started searching it out. I kind of remembered the movie had a cheezy title hahaha. Anyways, thanks for all the help guys.
