I'm looking for a movie I saw as a kid...
My memory of the movie is very vague I do remember however:

It's about a teenager who (I think) who is growing up in the suburbs, he's white...
I do remember the movie being commentated,
also I think I remember seeing a seen where he is playing basketball and something important happens to him...

Kind of reminds me of E.T. style film almost exactly but it's not a sci fi film I don't believe...I think its mid 80s or so and that's all I remember

Thanks for your input.

I also have another movie:

I remember this movie being 70's or 80's and it's about a family of trucker drivers who kill people...there is a seen with a barn or house or something on the interstate near a bridge and they murder some people ...thats all I know

Oh and for the first one there may be a seen where the teenager get's captured and is sent to a place with a little robot in the room that helps him escape because the people are trying to keep him away from home......

The first movie you're describing could be "Flight of the Navigator." There's a scene where a young child (who is being held by the US government in connection with extraterrestrial contact) escapes from a military base, inside the storage compartment of a robot. He then hops into a flying saucer and "navigates" it across the globe.

Then again, you could be looking for D.A.R.Y.L. which features a robotic child growing up in the suburbs until the US government decides to recall him... with extreme prejudice.

The second film with the truck drivers isn't ringing any bells however.

That sounds kinda like the begining of an obscurity I saw called KILL KILL OVER KILL(1993) aka TWISTED FATE

I second the Flight of the Navigator theory. The only other thing I could think of is Mac and Me. The little robot makes me 87% sure it's Flight of the Navigator though.

This is a long shot but it sounds like Breakdown with Kurt Russell.
