You know how on the back of your receipt at many fast food places (and some stores) they have a number you can call to fill out a survey on how well your order went and make general comments?  Well, some of them also double as contest entries where you can be put in a drawing to win money.

I can't help but wonder, has anyone ever actually WON anything from that, or is that just the franchise's clever way to try and get your address, so they can send you crap (or something)?

Just curious...

I usually do these things because I believe in feedback for places taking my money, both positive or negative.  However, I can't say for sure if the $5000 eating spree they offer is real.  I haven't won yet.  Bluesad

The only place around here that always has a survey on the back of the receipt is Long John Silvers.
And yes, I enter them every single time.

Wal-Mart also has a survey on their receipts and I always enter them, too.
But with Wal-Mart, you can only do a survey once every 90 days, I think.  And their surveys take a long time to fill out.

The Long John Silvers ones are good because you find out at the end of the survey if you've won or not.
Not so with the Wal-Mart surveys.

Haven't won anything...yet.   Wink

I do the Lowe's surveys and I got the $2500 gift card a couple of years ago, but in my line of work I've called a lot of them in, I get at least 4 of them a week. The fast food ones I rarely do.

For real?  Or are you just pulling our collective legs?

(I mean, FOUR a week?  That sounds  a bit much.)  But still, if you're being serious, you don't really need all those do ya?

Or wait, I'm guessing you mean, you get four surveys a week, not gift cards... :)

I'm a contractor I spend a lot of money at Lowe's, 2 or 3 trips a day, 6 days a week is not uncommon. You'll get more surveys as a contractor on a accounts receivable than Joe Citizen buying a gallon of paint. Most of them I don't even call in as you have to do it within 48 hours.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you spend the gift certificate on?

Plus, what type of contract work do you do?
