This isn't the type of thing that will completely blow you away  but it's definately fun and a little addictive.   The twists and turns are rudimentary by modern standards but I did really enjoy it.  The most memorable element is of course Fu manchu himself, who is a head taller than everyone else and ...well very villainous.  I don't remember the exact lengths of the episode  but they were around 20 minutes a piece, the first one being a little longer.   The hero guy is well cast.  the torture devices and tricks Mr manchu, or "illustrius father"  as his daughter calls him,  must have been an influence on the James Bond films.  definatly putting the 2nd disk at the top of the queue.

According to imdb,Dwight Frye appears in Chapter 5 as Prof.Anderson! Cool!

I have a couple cool episodes of the ADVENTURES of DR.FUMANCHU TV show from 1956 on a 50 pack Crime set.
That's fun too.

Would this be 1932's "The Mask of Fu Manchu" w/ Boris Karloff as the title character and Myrna Loy as his daughter.

Before political correctness set in, when the thing that Asians wanted most were white women.

When you still could torture somebody and get away with it.

When a thin man (Lewis Stone) was to be impaled between two walls of spikes, but then it was decided that a fat man (Jean Hersholt) would look better impaled between two walls of spikes.

They don't make films like that anymore.

It's about time they did a NEW Fu Manchu film. Directed by ....I dunno! But I think Martin Landau would be a good Fu Manchu and Lucy Liu as his lethal daughter.
