Now there's some nice hypocrisy on the part of PETA. I always thought they were nuts, but they at least seemed to be consistent and sincere about it. This is a surprise. Wouldn't be surprised if they have some whacked-out idea that it's an act of mercy for these poor animals born and bred to be companions to people. I could imagine them rejecting every family that came in looking for a pet, because they just didn't seem good enough. Wanting to own an animal would be a strike against them right off the bat.

Makes you wonder who got the few pets that did survive their brush with PETA. People who intended to marry them? When there are that few, you really have to ask what made them different.
