MOVIE WITH RED SHOES???

please help me help a friend find the title of this movie! here's the info she sent-
1... movie opens with a women squatting behind a building having a baby, the baby is stillborn. a cop finds her and takes her to his home where he has two grown sons and they both fall in love with her, but she says she only loves the father of her baby , and that he loves her she shows them a pair of red shoes and says they are very special and proof of his love, later in the movie she see;s the same shoes in a store and the owner tells her they are the cheapest shoes he sells and her heart is broken....

Doesn't sound like the plot of THE RED SHOES.  I don't recognize it, though.

nope, it's not the norma shearer movie,she says they aren't ballet shoes, they are high heels.
