How about the
other version of the American Red Dwarf - the one with Deep Space Nine's Terry Farrell as a female version of The Cat? Anyone seen that one?
One of the things I cannot bear about our culture in the USA is the way we have to re-do everything for the "American" audience -- I have never ever seen one of these remakes succeed.
I agree. That 90's Bill Cosby sitcom simply entitled "
Cosby" was an American take on
One Foot in the Grave. Of course, it was NOTHING like that show
at all. I think the most success ever had was the 70's/80's sitcom
Three's Company, which was an American version of
Man About the House.
The American versions of British things are the most pointless, it's not like it's a different language even. Hollywood thinks middle America is too stupid to even understand that 'lorry' means 'truck'.
How about how they changed the book (and subsequent film) title from
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone to
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone? Were they afraid some kids might not know how to use a dictionary if they were unfamiliar with the first one?
