My wife rented the thing, so I ended up watching it.  Yeah, I really stick to my principles on these things  TeddyR  I've seen the original, so I knew what was going to happen in the end.  Beyond that, it was such a typical Hollywood movie that I could predict what the outcome of every scene would be, how every conversation would end, etc.  Mean guy comes to Earth to kill everybody, little kid is falling off the bridge.  Oh, what will mean alien do?  Why, save him.  Yawn.  I thought the kid was the only interesting character in the whole thing.  I'm such a contrarian, aren't I?   TeddyR  Reeves was, well, Reeves, the same piece of wood he always is.  The female lead was uninteresting and I didn't care what happened to her, but I could guarantee that she would live, hug the kid, happy music would play, the taste of supper would come climbing up into the back of my mouth, etc.  Really, unless you're dying to see a larger quantity of CGI, you can just watch the trailer.  There's no added drama, characterization or plot in the movie.

Earth is visited by a GIANT ANTIMATTER SPACE BUZZARD! Gawk at the amazingly bad bird puppet, or chuckle over the silly dialog. This is one of the greatest b-movies ever made.
