Bad taste is just an acquired taste!!!

« on: April 16, 2009, 11:55:38 AM »

Okay, so as I'm sure you guys know, I have a blogspot site for my movie reviews. I'm planning to get myself a real URL and an at least somewhat professional looking website sometime within the next year or two. But, for now, I'm just makin' do with this blogspot thing. Now, I know you can modify blogspots a little with the tools they gave you. Drag n' drop stuff. Simple stuff. I can do that stuff, but I can't get the results I want out of it. You can also modify the html of your blogspot to do whatever the hell you want. I was wondering... anybody here good with html, or know there way around a blogspot well enough, and maybe willing to help me streamline my site and make it look a little better quality?

I'm not familiar with Blogspot (I use Wordpress), and I don't have time to work on someone else's site.  But if you want to learn basic HTML it's worthwhile and really not all that difficult, just time consuming.  (If you need to use css stylesheets & php, things get more complicated, but you can still handle it).

I used this basic HTML tutorial back when I started: http://htmlgoodies.earthweb.com/primers/html/.  It looks like it may not be updated, but you can always do a Google search for "HTML tutorial beginners" and you'll get dozens of hits.  Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I'll look into it.

Not sure about blogspot, I too use wordpress for blogs, you can edit the theme and layout with basic html and php. IT really depends on what you want to edit as to what you need to know. As the Rev said it's pretty easy.

I used blogspot for a while on free spinoff blogs of other sites I ran, the drag and drop stuff is pretty simple but I never did large scale modifications.  What exactly do you want to do to the blog?
