I've just had it. Lately i've been experimenting with video editing and decided to put up a video that i would hope to get a million views. It was so achievable too because in 10 days I gained 35,000 hits.

I'm SO freaking p**sed because I received a sudden influx of viewers within a 2 hour timeframe as my video was hitting everyones recommended list. I have a feeling someone flagged my file and then youtube rejected it for 'inappropriate content'. There was NO inappropriate content. No cussing, no sex, no violence. Also no reason for removing it. Youtube has zero customer service, you can write them a letter if you want via snail mail. There is a 'hidden' customer service function i found but nobody ever replies. It goes into the black hole.

And i'm seriously annoyed with the fact that I know of absolutely NO video hosting site now that won't rip your video down for having a song or movies clips in it. Imagine what a dull place andrews forum would be if suddenly all his video and sound clips were removed for copyright violation. I think its one thing to show the entire movie, it's another to show clips. If anything you're helping to promote that movie/artist/whatever.

Well that's off topic from my video with questionable content. Sigh, the worst part is seeing TONS of videos out there along the same exact subject as my video that aren't removed. And youtube has hit me twice. It's like any jacka$$ can flag my video because they don't like it and it gets removed. And if anyone here saw it you know that it was Rated G.  I have this feeling that the real people who work for youtube are probably these disfunctional 30 year olds who live in the basement of their grandmothers house in south carolina

i'm as mad as hell and i'm not gonna take this anymore! (name that movie)

Network!

I agree....I tried to view this video...
the soundtrack has been disabled because of 'copy right' infringements...

Small | Large

...and yet this one is allowed...using the exact soundtrack! HUH!?!

Small | Large

My guess is that they don't monitor their site...they allow the users to. And if some moron 16 yearold says it's bad-they cut it without veiwing the video and judgeing for themselves.

Yes...you tube is full of pin-heads. As is Flixter, and MySpace.
On you tube, you can have profanity, violence and cartoon sex...but God forbid if some  twitchy prick reports you  on any petty whim.
On Flixter, for example,I was trying to review Herbert L. Strocks great BLOOD OF DRACULA,the female vampire version of I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF, yet,it was not in there database. So I submitted to them this error. Yeah-they eventually included it-sort of. The poster they used to represent the film is from the Hammer Chris Lee HORROR OF DRACULA.  Obviouslyly there a lazy, half assed buch.Pinheads.
And MySpace removed some of my artwork...because of the cartoon boobies,I imagine-when porno spam ,hoe-slapping rap music, and ultra violence is rampant. Chripes! I used to read CONAN comics back in the 70's that had boobies all over the place. IT'S a CARTOON! And NOT pornographic. More pinheads.

Most huge sites like this are run on a herd mentallity. A herd of unimaginative mindless golems-doing what there told and gobbling up banal garbage -where any real talent usually gets slammed . Brain dead lemmings.  Hatred

Youtube provides the world's largest forum for copright infringement.  They make no attempt to monitor content on their own (how could they possibly)?  So, it appears if anyone challenges anything, they cover their asses by removing it automatically.  With millions of videos, they can't have the staff to mediate every dispute.

It's a terrible system, but what they are trying to do is impossible: to allow anyone anyplace in the world to upload anything they want while still obeying intellectual property laws.  How in the world could you design a system that could do that?

Someone had the trailer for DON'T LOOK NOW, which I had embedded on my site, removed for a "terms of use" violation.  I can only assume that's code for a copyright complaint.  But a trailer is advertising; it has no commercial value on it's own.  I can't imagine any company would willingly fight free advertising for it's product.

Susan, could you post the link for your removed video?  I'm curious to see what the message from youtube says.

Never mind, Susan, I found the link in the old thread. It says "terms of use violation."  Did youtube send you any more specific explanation?  I would be surprised if it were removed because it was flagged "inappropriate."  I think they just make you verify your age to view the video.  I bet it's coyright that's the issue.

Youtube never gives specific information. I had one video removed and another disabled for copyright infringements.

The reason for the lastest video was 'inappropriate content'. Can someone tell me what's inappropriate about Twilight? I didn't even have a single scene involving blood or sucking blood or fighting. Jesus

Obviously there's nothing "inappropriate" about your video (I was one of the 35,000 who watched it).  Hopefully youtube's "customer service" will get back to you on the issue.

Also here are examples of videos I found where the original owner stated it was removed for "Inapprpriate content" (not copyright infringement for removal)

1. The spanking cat. Apparently some consider it animal abuse. In that case my last cat was absused because she too LOVED being patted very hard on the back. ;-/

2. This guy fought back by reuploading it. His comment was:

This exact video is a reupload of a video that was judged as: Rejected (content inappropriate)
But please look at it! Where are the things that offend? Where are the killings? Where are there blood, nudity or violence???

I think the one guy is wearing a full-body condom for a hat.  That may be considered inappropriate.  Wink

Seriously, it makes no sense.  I have no idea how youtube operates.  I can't imagine they would remove every video just because one person flags it as inappropriate.  I also can't imagine they have the time or staff to watch and consider every video to see if it's inappropriate.  And there are plenty of sexy videos (without nudity) that just require the viewer to verify his/her age to watch them.  I think you're just the victim of some stupid bureaucratic mistake.

Yeah i guess abstenance and contraception are taboo. But i wouldn't quality condoms as "sexual innuendo"

Yet oddly when there are clips of nudity and full blown sex they keep it up on youtube and merely making you click on a button that confirms you are over 18.

whats that about?

You hate it now, your really going to hate it soon.  Rumor is that youtube is about to become hulu.com 2.0.  With more shows and movies being loaded by the copywright owners.  Creative user content is going to become an after thought.
