I've seen things you people couldn't imagine...

I've got this problem, I go to a site and then I'm moved on to this:

http://www.google.co.uk/hws/dell-usuk/afe?hl=en&channel=uk&s=http://ad.uk.doubleclick.net/adi/N4773.Adcom/B3121924.5;sz=728x90;click=http://servedby2.advertising.com/click/site=0000763644/mnum=0000647243/cstr=78546122=_49f90add,8151618713,763644%5E647243%5E-12%5E0,1_/xsxdata=$xsxdata/bnum=78546122/optn=64?trg=;ord=8151618713?

HUH ?!?!?

What gives ?
I don't click on anything...the computer  clicks me onto another site ?
Have I got a bug in the system or something ?

That stuff in red, I have no idea what that is or what it means !
Is there a cure ?

Doubleclick is some sort of adware/spyware.  I'd run a scan, use Spybot or something.  If you've installed any new downloaded programs lately, I'd be highly suspicious of them.

I had a similar problem a while back, I'd be over at the IMDb, do a search for a movie, and get transferred to some weird page telling me they couldn't find what I was looking for.  I traced it back to some advertising thing that was owned by Google.  I un-installed the Google pack, ran a scan, and that seems to have eliminated the problem.

The exact same thing happened to me, I get at the imdb!
It seems to have gone now, but it was very annoying !

Doubleclick is a large advertising network that serves a huge number of online ads.  To the best of my knowledge, they are owned by Google.

I know that some Doubleclick ads run on Badmovies.org, via a third party network that I am a member of.  Something I also notice in the goofed-up mess you posted that Advertising.com is in the mess.  Years ago, Badmovies.org used that ad network.  I left them after they repeatedly had issues with ad serving that caused problems on the site.

What you are running into might be a result of Behavioral Advertising.  Perhaps opting-out would help:

Ya I know what you mean. Instead of pop ups now days it these retarded flash adds that cover over the site you want to see and usually in a vain attempt to remove it so I can look at the actual site I want I get sent to another site.
