Hey, I thought maybe someone on this site could direct me to a movie that I remember from childhood.(?)
What I recall:
At the end of the film the planet is going through volcanic upheaval, the crew rides their robot through a lava flow to get to their ship, the robot sacrifices itself doing so, and they cut to a distant future scene where pterodactyls are flying around these hot chicks (sirens?) are worshiping the lava-rock encrusted robot...
...Any help is appreciated!

I was wondering if anyone could help?
I remember a film from childhood, but cant recall the title...
...Well, from what I recall, toward the end; the crew of a explorer ship is trying to escape a lava flow, they ride the back of their faithful robot through the flow and danger, sacrificing the robot in the process. The next scene cuts to a little time in the future where pterodactyls flying by and hot chicks, (sirens?), worshiping  the frozen-in-stone robot/rock...
....Any help is appreciated!!

This is "Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women". A more "respectable" version, without the hot chicks, was released, with Basil Rathbone, called "Voyage to the Prehistoric Planet." Same footage when they are on the planet. Both pretty sad but entertaining. Weirdly enough, you can see that the original film from Russia, "Planeta Bur", they lifted the footage from was probably a pretty good movie.

P.S. This is in the wrong area. It should be in the What Movie Is This? section but I ain't no moderator.

I'm not sure, but the first movie I thought of was The Black Hole.
(that's probably incorrect, though)

Wow, we're really hittin' a run of solved questions that can likely never be moved to Solved w/o a response from the O.P., but in any case, Javakoala solved this one up the thread (twice): it is absolutely "Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women". I myself have watched this one at least twice, which is crazy, as it is dull as hell, but all details mentioned by the O.P. occur in this one (and its alternate versions) and likely nowhere else. Alas, there are no pterodactyls and no cult of women in THE BLACK HOLE.  Wink
