The fate of the last door to door salesmen

« on: April 27, 2009, 04:57:03 PM »

I know I'll get lambasted for this, but I don't really remember hating this show all that much. Hell I actually would tune in regularly to see it. It's been quite awhile since I've seen this so I might have changed my opinion from a couple of years ago. So what your guy's opinion on this show? Loved it or hated it?

I liked this show too.  I really liked the episode when they have alternate enterpise tha finds the old Defiant that was lost in Tholian Web epsidoe of the orignal series.

The orignal is still my favorite, but this is probably my second favorite.  I can't rewatch TNG, I was never that interested in DS9 and I really disliked Voyager (Neelix, Chacotay & the 1/2 Klingon woman sucked imho).

I enjoyed Enterprise.  It's definitely my second favorite, next to the original series.  In fact, I'd say the third season with the Xindi weapon was as good as the original series.  Great characters, high drama, desperate situation, awesome.  I never cared for the other spinoffs at all, the characters were so wooden, the whole thing was incredibly childish, they were always beating you over the head with their lessons in morality for 12 year olds.  And after 35 minutes of frantic running around, they'd always just realign the phase inducer coils to emit an inverse tachyon pulse.  The plots were so sloppy, everything always depended on a series of lucky coincidences.  Enterprise certainly had its share of problems, but the characters were in an entirely different league form the other spinoffs - actual human beings, with emotions, believable relationships, etc.  When the names Rick berman and Brannon Braga would appear at the end of each episode, I was actually astounded.

I like Enterprise, but I always thought they could've done without the "Temporal Cold War " plot.   I also didn't care much for the Xindi arc either.  The last season was by far the best, because they went back to the roots of building the Federation.

Scifi still shows it week day afternoons at 4:00PM Central Time.  I also think they may run a block of episodes one night each week.

I never watched it. After sampling a little Voayager I decided to avoid any more Star Trek franchises. But you guys make Enterprise sound interesting, so maybe I'll give it a shot. Thanks.

I've watched every single episode and really don't like it that much. It was OK at times, but mostly I disliked it, or at least didn't like it much.

I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?

I liked the show, I think it's at least as good as the original, the Sci Fi channel has an episode on every weekday in the late afternoon/early evening, if I'm home from work in time I usually watch while preparing dinner.

I understand why you'd give up after Voyager, it was my least favorite series by far.
