Science? Art? Erotica for necrophiles? The "Bodies" exhibit which has been seen by twenty-five million people worldwide (I'm not one of them) apparently now includes plasticized deceased humans undertaking sex acts. I guess if you've ever said, "I'd like to spend eternity doing it" you should be careful what you wish for.

Grace, you do realize it's not an interactive "hands-on" exhibit, right?   Wink

He's right, SG.

You can look but don't touch.

There is a film called Kissed if you like that sort of thing. It's the only film I was nearly sick while watching...

A good bad movie is like popcorn for the soul!

I have heard of and seen pictures of this travelling exhibition for years, and I always found that it just smacked too much of cheap sensationalism.  Is there scientific and medical value in the study and exhibition of the human body?  Of course.  But to turn it into nothing more than a cheap sideshow seems too tawdry for me.  I keep thinking how I would feel if it were my wife or daughter on that pedestal, or how they would feel if it were me.

But this . . . . this is too far.  I find no redeeming value in it whatsoever.

Give people some dignity in death, for crying out loud!!  Hatred  hot

The BODIES exhibit is far from cheap sensationalism. You can explore many different areas of the body in a museum like setting, and my wife and I spent almost 3 hours there. I have formal training in the field of Physical Therapy and this was not unlike studying cadavers, but without the formaline. I had never seen the mechanics of hip or knee replacement, shoulder reconstruction, or a steel plate in the head. I had also never seen every blood vessel in the human body in situ. The developmental stages of an embryo are also fascinating.

Maybe it's all in the frame of mind that you approach it with.
