That was not actually mine, but very similar.

The Citroen 2CV, the "duck". Bought it for 350 Marks from my sister back then (app. 180 $, back then).

Best car I ever had, but it virtually fell apart one day

I had a Citroen DS years ago OMG what a POS! Just try getting parts for it in the US... fergetaboutit!

Depends on what you mean by "best", I suppose. It was definitely the most fun to drive. There was this urban legend around here, that when you could flip over this car going real fast around corners, Citroen would give you a new one. Never tried, but a friend did. I think he wrecked his car going backwards or something (needless to say, no "refund").

Later upgraded to one of these:




It was customized, complete with gas stove, sink, bed, etc in the back, definitely handy when not being able to drive anymore and in need for coffee, etc the next morning...

... those were the days...
