This isn't an exploitation movie.  It's a treasured east german musical, treasured because it is one of the few watchable pieces of film that the heavily state controlled and censored east german film industry managed to produce.  It's not mandatory but seeing the documentary "east side story" added alot to my viewing experience but I would have liked it anyway.   Though silly and corny in places, the songs are on a whole really good most notably the sublime "How can you know who I am?" and a very nice folky campfire number.  The budget is minimal and there is a real lack of scenery for a vacation themed picture but the cast keeps you interested with boy girl tension and spirited silliness.  The second half gets a little bogged down in a love triangle thing that doesn't really come of but all in all I really enjoyed it.  It would have been perfect if the DVD had the song selection thing like bollywood movies have so you could go back to the ones you liked (which i did anyway numerous times).

This is undoubtedly the worst movie I've ever seen. I can't get it through my brain how a director could seriously produce such rubbish. The film has no plot, there is no character development, the choreography is nothing better than third-grade mimicking, the throw-away music is absolutely atrocious and, well, whatever else needs to be considered when judging the quality of a film, is without a doubt terrible here too.
