I am trying to find the title of a movie I remember as a boy. It as about a boy that could control a sphere with his computer. At first he just changes its location then he finds out he can change the size of it. He is eventually inside of it and flying around. I think he even goes underground with it. Any help would be great. Google wasn't much help.

Could this possibly be "Explorers" (1985)?

I'm thinking it sounds like FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR (1986)

Flight of the Navigator sounds more right to me.

No, you are definitely thinking of Explorers.

Small | Large

Flight of the Navigator is similar, but does not have the specific computer sphere scene. In the movie, River Phoenix becomes privy to a computer program that lets him devise the spherical devise. They then put together the "spaceship" that lets them fly beyond.

Both movies you should watch, of course, if you were a kid in the '80s. Explorers and Flight of the Navigator are really two of the better children's movies of that period.l

Yep, after watching that I am convinced its Explorers too. Its been ages since I've seen either film, but Explorers definitely was the better of the two.
